Welcome the first day of Spring with a candle dipping workshop grounded in folklore and seasonal magic. In ancient Celtic belief, bees were sacred beings—carriers of wisdom, keepers of the sun’s warmth, and messengers between this world and the otherworld. Their wax, born of flowers and light, was believed to hold protective and life-giving power, especially at moments of balance and change.
The Spring Equinox marked a liminal turning of the year, when light and dark stood equal and the earth began to wake. Ancient, sacred sites were aligned to catch the returning sun, honoring fertility, growth, and the renewal of life. Beeswax candles were lit at this threshold to awaken the home, bless the land, and call in abundance for the coming season.
In this hands-on gathering, we’ll dip tapers the old-fashioned way—layer by layer—working with warm beeswax as an act of intention and seasonal alignment. Each candle becomes a small talisman, shaped by patience, repetition, and fire, meant to be burned for protection, clarity, or the welcoming of new beginnings.
Come gather at the edge of the season. Work with wax and flame, welcoming back the light.
We'll be set up at Timberline Farms / Black Market Bakery. Just pop in when it's convenient (between 10am - 1pm) to dip your set of tapers. Plan for about 30 minutes. Grab some donuts.
Walk-ins are welcomed, reservations are appreciated!
